Grab is a newspaper written, compiled, designed, produced, and distributed by pupils from Grahamstown's disadvantaged high schools. The writers are mostly second-language English speakers. .

The project has been operated under the Department of Journalism & Media Studies at Rhodes University. The pupils have been trained by fourth year students of the Department.


1. The first Grab 1996: Stories about teenage babies, cigarettes, AIDS, and coming drunk to school.

2. Grab 2: and Grab 3 A year on, the issues are still burning.

3. Supergrab: Grahamstown pupils collaborated with their counterparts from Umtata to do this one.
